Mackenzie Hughes is a Canadian golf-pro and a graduate of Kent State University. Prior to turning professional in 2012, he won 2 editions of the Canadian Amateur Championship, in 2011 and 2012 respectively. After a spectacular career as an amateur, Mackenzie Hughes played in PGA Tour Canada and on the eGolf Professional Tour. In 2013, he managed to qualify for the US Open. However, his first professional victory occurred on PGA Tour Canada in 2013, at the Cape Breton Celtic Classic. In the same year, Hughes won the 2013 PGA Tour Canada Order of Merit and qualified for the Web.com Tour 2014.
In 2016, Mackenzie achieved his first victory on the Web.com Tour at the Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper, and one year later, he joined the PGA Tour and won the RSM Classic (in the same year), thus marking his first victory on the biggest tour in the world. During his career, Hughes amassed over 2.6 million dollars in golf earnings and besides golf, he loves everything outdoors.
