Oda made his debut in the Majors at the Open Championship in 2008, but missed the cut. He played at the Open again in 2010 and 2012, missing the cut each time. In 2014, Oda had better luck, making the cut at both the Open Championship and the PGA Championship. Oda finished in a tie for 39th place at the Open and a tie for 40th at the PGA.
Through mid-summer of 2015, Oda has recorded 3 top tens on the PGA Japan Tour and sits 22nd on the money list. Oda finished 2014 at #56 in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Oda is known for hitting long drives and also having a deft touch around the greens. This kind of combination could result in seeing more of Oda at professional golf’s Major tournaments.
