While attending the University of Michigan, Morse was an All American. He also captured the Big 10 Championship in 1980. He turned pro shortly after graduating in 1981. He played on a wide array of Tours after he turned pro. He played on the Michigan Tour, Nike Tour, Australasian Tour, European Tour and the Florida Tour. He won three times in Australia including the Australian Open in 1990. Playing on the Nike Tour in 1993, he won a PGA Tour card after finishing 5th in the standings. He won once, at the New England Classic, was runner-up twice and third on two occasions.
He played 26 events in his rookie season on the PGA Tour, making the cut 12 times. His best result was at the KMart Greater Greensboro Open where he finished in a tie for 6th place. He finished his rookie season 122nd on the money list, thereby just about retaining his card. Morse won his first and only PGA Tour title the following year at the United Airlines Hawaiian Open. He won by three shots from Duffy Waldorf and Tom Lehman. This was his first event of the season. He also had a runner-up finish and 3rd place on his way to finishing a career high 42nd on the money list.
In 1996, Morse registered his best ever finish in a Major Championship when he finished 4th at the US Open which was played at Oakland Hills. He lost his PGA Tour card after the 1998 season and never regained it. He became eligible for the Champions Tour in 2008 and has played in a total of 44 events, registering five top 10 finishes.
