Born in Van Nuys, California in 1974, Gore went to the University of Arizona after high school, before moving to Pepperdine University. While he was studying at Pepperdine, Gore played on the 1997 NCAA Division I Championship team. Gore was also a member of the victorious Walker Cup Team that same year.
After turning professional in 1997, Gore began playing on the Nationwide Tour. In 2005, Gore achieved a battlefield promotion. This is given to a player who wins three Nationwide Tour events in one season. As a result of this promotion, Gore moved from the Nationwide Tour to the PGA Tour mid-season. In 2005 at the US Open he played in the final group, but shot a 14-over-par 84, which meant that he finished the tournament in a tie for 48th place. Gore has so far achieved seven career wins on what is now the Web.com Tour.
Away from the course, Gore is a family man. He lives in Valencia, California with his wife Megan, and their two children Jaxon and Olivia.
As of the end of 2014, Gore had achieved one win on the PGA Tour, amassing total prize money of £4,721,297.
