Harold Varner III is an American golf-pro and he’s currently playing in the PGA Tour. It’s worth mentioning that Harold is one of the longest drivers of the golf ball on the PGA Tour, despite his relatively small stature, and also he’s one of the few African American golf pros. Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, Harold Varner III was the first in East Carolina University’s history to be awarded with the title of Conference USA player of the year. In 2010, Harold played in the US Amateur at Chambers Bay in University Place, Washington.
After turning pro in 2012, he joined the Web.com Tour 2 years later, in 2014, and then the PGA Tour in 2016. In December 2016 Harold Varner won the Australian PGA Championship. The love for golf was instilled by his father, who bought him his first set of golf clubs at age two. If he were not a golf pro, he would’ve try to join the NBA and become the best player in the world, yet his height would’ve worked against this dream. During his golf career, Harold Varner III earned more than 2.8 million dollars.
