Born in Paraguay, in 1983, Zanotti was first introduced to golf when he followed his father round the course, at the age of two. Zanotti was the top ranked Paraguayan amateur player, before he turned professional in 2003. Three years later, Zanotti won the Tour de las Americas Order of Merit. This was secured by his win at the season ending event, the Abierto Mexicano Corona. This win helped him to finish in eleventh place in the Challenge Tour rankings, which meant that he could play on the full European Tour in 2008. Although Zanotti did not finish high enough in the money list to retain his place on the European Tour, he did manage to re-qualify by finishing in sixteenth place at qualifying school.
In 2014, Zanotti won the BMW International Open. This was his first win on the European Tour, and the first time that a Paraguayan had won on the Tour.
As of the end of 2014, Zanotti was yet to achieve a win on the PGA Tour, but he had amassed prize money of $51,275.
