A hole-in-one at age 14 while playing with his father fueled Eric Meierdierks’ desire to be a professional golfer.

Meierdierks is still trying to live the dream of becoming a PGA tour regular after years of playing mini tours, the Web.com Tour, and a brief stint on the PGA tour during the 2013 season.

Meierdierks earned his 2013 Tour card by finishing in 14th place at the PGA year-end Qualifying School tournament.

Meierdierks struggled on the PGA Tour in 2013, making the cut in only 4 of a limited 19 starts and earning just $58,000. His best finish that season was a tie for 35th place at the Fed Ex St. Jude Classic.

Meirdierks has played on the eGolf Professional Tour and the Gateway Tour the past two seasons as he attempts to make his way back to the Web.com and PGA Tours.

The Chicago native is a huge fan of his hometown’s professional sports teams, the Bulls, the Bears and the Cubs.
