Donald Constable is a former PGA Tour player who is now playing on the PGA Canada Tour. Constable, a former hockey player, only began concentrating on golf after his mother got concerned about her son’s health and future prospects as a hockey player following one too many concussions.
Constable would go on to win two Minnesota state high school championships and play golf at the University of Texas and the University of Minnesota.
Constable earned his PGA Tour card in the most nerve-wracking way imaginable –holing a 5-foot putt on the 108th and final hole of the six-day qualifying school tournament.
Constable played in 16 events during the 2013 season and just 1 tournament in 2014 but failed to make the cut in a single tournament.
The highlight of Constable’s professional career was qualifying for the 2014 U.S. Open. He finished 2nd out of 59 players at a sectional qualifier in Maryland earlier that year – the top 4 spots qualified for that year’s championship at Pinehurst, North Carolina.
Constable now lives back home in Minnesota and is attempting to secure a card on the Canadian PGA Tour. He is currently playing a combination of Canadian tour and mini-tour events.
A free-spirit, Constable has expressed an interest in becoming a police SWAT member or military Special Forces soldier if his golf fortunes wane.
