Danny Edwards is the older brother of fellow golfer David Edwards. He was born in Ketchikan, Alaska and first started playing golf when he was fourteen years old, winning the Oklahoma State High School Championship when he was eighteen. After completing high school Edwards started college at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He continued to play golf while at college. During his amateur career Edwards achieved success at the Big Eight Conference Championships in 1972 and 1972 and at the North and South Amateur in 1972. He was also three times All-American while at college.
In 1973 Edwards turned professional, but it was two years before he first played on the PGA Tour, in 1975. Edwards achieved his first PGA Tour win in 1977, at the Greater Greensboro Open. His last win at a PGA Tour event came in 1985, at the Pensacola Open. Edwards’ best performance at a Major tournament was a tie for fifth place at the British Open in 1974.
Away from playing Edwards is CEO of a company that has a system for fixing golf greens, called GreenFix Golf. He lives in Scottsdale, Arizona.
