Swedish born Noren turned professional in 2005, having graduated from Oklahoma State University. He originally played on the second tier Challenge Tour in Europe where he achieved his first victory as a professional at the Rolex Trophy. Having finished a credible third in his first season he graduated to the 2007 European Tour. He seemed to be set for success in his professional career.
Noren’s first seasons on the European Tour saw him achieve a reasonable level of form; he made the cut at the 2008 Open Championship. He eventually finished in a tie for nineteenth place. The following season, Noren achieved his first win on the European Tour, at the Omega European Masters. This was followed by a second win at the Saab Wales Open in 2011 and a third, the following month, at the Nordea Masters on home ground in Sweden.
Impressively Alexander made his first hole in one when he was just twelve. It seems he was destined to be a golfer but he has said that if he hadn’t joined the pro circuit he would have liked to become an F1 driver. That’s a career that would have represented a very different type of thrill. In fact Noren has a passion for cars in general, when he is not playing golf. He also has a passion for football. Maybe he would have been kicking a ball around a soccer pitch if he wasn’t hitting one around the golf course.
As of the end of 2014 Noren had competed in 17 PGA Tour events. He has yet to achieve a win and has amassed prize money of $279,886.
