French golfer Alexander Lévy has been an enthusiastic golfer from a very early age. Having been born in Orange, California he moved to France, with his French parents, at the age four, where he attended the French Federation of Golf's academy for secondary school from the age of fourteen. This was a good foundation for a forthcoming career in professional golf.
Levy experienced success as an amateur, with wins in both the French Amateur Championship and the French International Amateur Championship in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Having turned professional in 2011, Levy joined the European Tour in 2013, experiencing his first win at the 2014 Volvo China Open. This was a steady start to his inauguration as a professional golfer.
Levy appeared at the 2014 PGA Championship in October 2014; his first appearance in a major championship. Levy continued to show his huge potential in 2014, on the European Tour, when he finished ninth in The Race to Dubai Rankings. The season saw him become the first French man to achieve multiple tour wins in the same season.
If he wasn’t a golfer then Levy may have been a professional soccer player. He is a huge fan of the sport, and especially of Olympique de Marseille FC. He may also have followed his parents into their chosen career; they are both pharmacists.
As of the end of 2014 Levy had made two appearances on the PGA Tour. He is yet to achieve a win on the PGA Tour and has amassed prize money of $62,000.
