What Are The Key Set Up Check Points To Hit Sweet Hybrid Golf ShotsHybrid golf clubs are extremely easy clubs to play with and can get you hitting some terrific golf shots. But you will only be able to achieve a sweet shot from the centre of the club face if you are set up in an address position that will promote this to happen.

Your address position is absolutely crucial as it is from here that you will make your swing from. If you have achieved the correct set up position, you will make a great golf swing and hit a sweet golf shot. Understanding the key positions to achieve at set up if you are going to play a hybrid golf shot is really important as without this you will mis-strike the golf ball.

The first key point to achieve for a sweet strike with a hybrid is your stance width. If you are playing from a stance that is too wide, you will struggle to transfer your weight correctly. With too much weight on your back foot as you try to swing through impact, the club head will reach the bottom of its swing before it gets to the golf ball and therefore you will either hit the ground before the ball or hit the upper part of the golf ball with your up swing. Both will result in a mis-hit rather than a sweet strike. To achieve the sweet strike with your hybrid, you need to position your feet just under shoulder width apart and you will be able to transfer your weight on to your front foot through impact and deliver the club head to the golf ball, allowing it to strike the ball from the middle.

Within your stance, you also need to achieve a balanced position to begin your swing from. To play a hybrid well, you want to have the same amount of weight on each of your feet. If you place too much weight on your front foot, you will swing back too steeply and you will attack down too much with the club head and connect with the top of the golf ball. Too much weight on your back foot at set will produce a flat golf swing. Here, the golf club head will travel around you at too low an angle and the result of this will be that the club head will strike the ground before the ball and produce a fat golf shot.

You now need to achieve the correct ball position in order to hit a sweet golf shot with your hybrid. Playing the ball too far forward in your stance will result in you striking the ground before the golf ball, producing a fat shot. Playing the ball too far back in your stance will result in the club head hitting the top of the golf ball as it swings down to the bottom of the swing arc. Achieving the correct ball position will promote a sweetly struck shot and for this you need the ball an inch inside your front foot heel.

Posture is crucial to a sweet strike. Posture is the forward tilt of your spine and this angle affects how you swing the club head around you. If you do not tilt forward enough, you will swing the club on a very upright plane and you will strike the top of the golf ball. Tilting forward too much will produce a flat golf swing that will strike the ground before the ball and hit a fat shot. You want to tilt forward, keeping your spine straight, so that your arms dangle freely from your body and vertically under your shoulders. This is the position to hold the handle of the golf club in to achieve a sweet strike

The only golf shot that you should play with a ball position opposite your left big toe, is your driver. You play your driver from a high tee peg and positioning the ball so far forward allows you to strike the ball with the club head on its up swing. Doing this with the ball on the ground will cause you to strike the top of the ball and hit a thin golf shot.

If you play your hybrids from a stance width wider than your shoulders, then you will struggle to transfer your weight correctly as you swing through impact. Playing the shot with too much weight on your back foot will result in the club head reaching the bottom of its swing arc before it reaches the ball and you will hit a fat golf shot, not a sweet one.

If you do not tilt forward to create good posture in your set up position, then you will swing the golf club on too steep a plane. The club head will achieve a very high position on the back swing and will attack the golf ball from a very steep angle. The club head will strike the top of the golf ball.
