kick point

The point of maximum bending of a shaft, measured by pulling the tip end while the butt remains stationary. A shaft’s kick point, also called the flex or bend point, plays a key role in the club’s performance.

A shaft with a high kick point will tend to produce lower shots; a low kick point produces higher shots. Most shafts fall in the middle of the high-low range, which is only about two inches on most shafts.
