Who says “silly season” golf is boring?
Zach Johnson holed a wedge shot for par on the 72nd hole to earn a playoff with tourney host Tiger Woods, then beat the world’s top-ranked player on the first hole of sudden death at California’s Sherwood Country Club. Though it’s not an official PGA Tour event, the tournament does count toward the World Golf Rankings. In fact, Johnson’s win vaulted him into the top 10.
