Stephen Curry Presents Under Armour’s New Range Unlimited Golf Collection

Under Armour’s new Range Unlimited Golf Collection was unveiled by Stephen Curry earlier this week, in China of all places, at Mission Hills in Shenzhen respectively. If you are wondering why an American company chose to showcase their latest golf collection in China instead of the United States, well, there are two main reasons for this move: first, China’s population is, let’s say massive, and there are clear signs of a growing middle-class in the former communist country. Second, there are many Chinese who love golf, and considering the fact that even the chicoms are encouraging golf-tourism in their country, Under Armour’s move makes perfect sense; as usual, China is regarded to become (if it isn’t already) the world’s largest market, and since there are at least 4 Chinese for every American, you do the math.

Preamble aside, the new Range Unlimited Collection by Under Armour is inspired by Stephen Curry’s sense of fashion, if there is such a thing to begin with (just kidding), i.e. the company’s designers literally took inspiration from Curry’s wardrobe, both off court and on course styles. Hence, the new collection from Under Armour combines Curry’s own view of fashion and style with the latest and greatest technological innovations from one of the world’s largest golf apparel companies, with the end result being an elevated performance line, to quote UA Golf themselves. There are no less than fourteen unique pieces in the Range Unlimited Collection 2019, including bottoms, tops, hats, outerwear, not to mention the famous Curry 6 SL golf shoe, which can be described as the cherry on top.

The Curry 6 SL golf shoe takes inspiration from the Curry 6 basketball shoe (how original) and adds into the mix the UA Rotational Resistance outsole (sans spikes this time); to make a long story short, everything about this golf shoe is focused on lightweight traction and maximum lockdown. The polos available in the Unlimited Range are pretty expensive, starting at $80 apiece, but things get progressively better: the outerwear starts at $95-$100, the hats at $30, pants $80, while the famous golf shoes branded Curry retail for no less than $160.

However, there’s a reason for the hefty prices: all items in the new Unlimited Range are actually a limited edition, hence limited quantities of the 2019 collection will become available starting in the fall at Under Armour Brand Houses and on the company’s official website (UA.com) across North America, Europe and (obviously) Asia, as well as at select pro shops all across the US.
