Say Hello Latest LIN-Q driver fairway wood shaft UST

UST Mamiya is a big player in the golf-shaft world, and their brand-new LIN-Q series of driver and fairway wood shafts for 2020 is nothing short of amazing. As far as specs go, club heads and golf shafts have to work in a “confined” space so to speak, and innovation is only possible via using new processes and materials. UST Mamiya’s engineers did just that with their latest LIN-Q driver and fairway wood shaft, as the new products are more than 2 years in the making.

Mamiya’s R&D department worked overtime trying to hit the world with a stable and lightweight product, without sacrificing feel in the process. The end result is the LIN-Q shaft, which feels as good as it gets due to a revolutionary technology employed by UST, the Q-Fiber technology respectively which works wonders in terms of keeping a light weight-to-stability ratio. The next question from our readers is what on Earth is Q-Fiber technology, and here’s the short answer: this composite material is basically a lightweight fiber also known as low-FAW, or low fiber areal weight, and using this material allowed UST to add micro plies of Q without sacrificing overall weight in the process.

Less is more or something along these lines, hence the new shaft benefits from improved hoop strength that works by reducing ovaling during the swing, hence helping with eliminating energy loss. We know, that sounds pretty complicated, but think in terms of lightweight, less energy loss and a more stable shaft, and there you have it.

Moving along with our alien-technology shafts, there are two flavors of LIN-Q: Purple and Gunmetal. The cooler sounding one (the latter respectively) is aimed at golfers looking for a more stable/lower launching shaft, i.e. this one is ideal for players with higher swing speeds and aggressive transitions. However, both versions are great in terms of stability and feel and would be an awesome addition to your driver and fairway wood. And since they're both just as good, the price for the Purple and the Gunmetal versions is identical: $250 MSRP, and they’re available as part of UST Mamiya’s custom program through OEM partners and certified dealers.
