What’s the connection between Puma X Collection and Rickie Fowler you asked? Well, if you don’t already know, Rickie Fowler just celebrated his ten year partnership with the German company by debuting Puma’s new X collection at the US Open Championship. It’s also worth mentioning that Puma Golf’s X Collection was pretty much inspired by the celebration of the ten year anniversary, especially given the fact that the famous Tour pro showcased the respective collection at the 148th edition of the US Open that took place in Royal Portrush.
Since we’re talking about Rickie Fowler, the X Collection by Puma Golf features traditional patterns and fabrics of the British Isles, as expected by connoisseurs, and incorporates a green, navy and white color palette as well as hound’s-tooth detailing, which is a homage of sorts to the region that spawned the game of golf. According to the head of creation at Puma Golf, Grant Knudson respectively:
“Rickie’s style has evolved over the years, starting various fashionable trends in on course wear by blending influences from streetwear and modern fashion. Today, his style reflects both a maturation in his game and personal confidence, and the X Collection was designed to reflect that transition in an elegant way.”
But let’s take a closer look at the Puma X Collection starting with the Causeway Jacket, which sells for $140 MSRP and comes with an old school zipper, hand pockets, button closure and a classic hounds tooth pattern. On top of that, the Causeway Jacket offers wind and water resistance, which means it’s suitable in literally any type of weather, and it’s available in a pea coat color way.
Next in line we have the Antrim Pant, made from a high quality blend fabric (polyester wool respectively); the Antrim retails for $110 MSRP and features an elegant hounds tooth pattern; another nice touch from Puma is the waistband, which comes with a hook and bar closure. Needless to say, the pea coat color way and the elegant design makes the Antrim Pant to be an excellent choice both on and off the golf course.
Since it’s summer, Puma’s X Collection also brings a cool Donegal Polo, which retails for $85 MSRP and features a beautiful button placket, as well as a front chest pocket, that comes with a subtle hounds tooth accent pattern, easily observable on the inside, which matches perfectly the interior of the neck. The Donegal Polo shirt is available in Irish green, bright white and pea coat color ways.
Since we’re talking polos, we must also mention the Skerries, another $85 shirt which comes with an interesting design and high quality materials, featuring a unique deconstructed hounds tooth pattern and a premium technical fabric that offers moisture wicking properties. The Skerries Polo from Puma’s X collection comes with a rib knit collar and it’s available in Irish green, bright white and pea coat hues.
For colder weather, Puma’s X Collection has all its bases covered via the Dunluce ¼ Zip Pullover, which retails for $120 and comes with a high quality fabric blend, cotton and cashmere respectively, not to mention its antiquated zipper and the classy green tipping on the collar, as well as ribbed cuffs. The Dunluce is available in two color ways: shade Irish green and pea coat Irish green.
Another interesting addition to Puma’s X collection 2019 is the P 110 X Cap which retails for $30 and comes with a raised leather-made P logo, which complements beautifully the moisture wicking sweatband and the cap’s slight curve brim. The P 110 X Cap is available in two color ways: white shade and pea coat bodies, each of them featuring the aforementioned raised leather P logo detailing.
Since you can’t play a decent round of golf without proper shoes, Puma offers their new IGNITE PROADAPT X to fashion conscious golfers worldwide. Retailing for $220, the Ignite Proadapt X golf shoes come with all the bells and whistles of the original Ignite Proadapt, with a touch of Irish, i.e. they’re available in a pea coat body with bright white and Irish green colors.
