Carolina Lakes Golf Club Course Review
A nice little hidden gem in the heart of Indian Land, SC. Carolina Lakes really has a lot to offer, and it all begins with the immaculate practice facility.
The practice facility at Carolina Lakes is truly second to none. Equipped with a massive driving range that is large enough to hold about 60 golfers at one time, which allows for everyone to have a spot to hit during their visit. The short game area is quite nice as well, and comes packed with multiple greens and bunkers to accommodate any type of golfer. The putting green at The Lakes is as advertised, with amazing grass year-round. Carolina Lakes features views of the Catawba River, and is located just minutes away from the popular Ballantyne area in Charlotte. The golf course was actually nominated for Golf Digests Best New Courses for under $75, and many say that Carolina Lakes has the best greens in the area and I would leave this for debate. For about 8 months, the greens truly are amazing.
The downfall here, is that the greens are Bent, so in the middle of the hot summer months they tend to burn out and die down. A unique feature at The Lakes, is that they do offer five sets of tees, which allows golfers to give it a run from a multitude of distances. There is also a Family Tee, which plays to a par 55, with 17 par 3s and 4s. ?In all, I would not rank Carolina Lakes as the most difficult course I have ever played, but it truly is a course for everyone. Any type of golfer can tee it up here and enjoy a fun-filled round of golf.
