Old Town Club Golf Course Review

The Old Town club can be described as a quietly traditional facility, located in Winston Salem, North Carolina. The golf course was designed by architect Perry Maxwell and it makes for a truly hidden gem, being almost anonymous to many but truly revered by those who played it and know it well. The Old Town golf club was established back in the day, in 1939, and its a very quiet place which provides its visitors and members with a tranquil atmosphere of hospitality and elegance. Together with playing a great round of golf, you can also enjoy the clubs amenities, which include a very nice clubhouse, swimming pools and tennis courts, but the 18 hole golf course is the main attraction, as it was built and designed to delight the players with a superbly challenging experience, for golf pros and novice players alike.

Despite its relatively low profile, the Old Town clubs golf course was gifted by its designer with one of the most interesting routings in golf, being a true masterpiece strategically speaking, and also with an awesome set of greens. Even if the golf course surfaced in the US top 100 best golf courses quite a few times, it somehow managed to stay under the radar, remaining one of Americas hidden gems since its inception. Maxwells routings made excellent use of the natural surrounding area, as the golf course is very effectively designed over and across the undulating terrain, concentrating on having either greens or tees elevated. There are also water hazards on the Old Town clubs course, courtesy of a single stream which runs through the property, making for a serene and gorgeous place to spend a weekend playing your favorite game.
