The Old Waverly golf club sits on a beautiful piece of real estate in West Point, Mississippi, being designed and built in 1988 with the golf course wearing the signatures of architects Bob Cupp and Jerry Pate. The golf club is a private facility, available for its members and their guest only and it makes for a fantastic golf experience, especially with the 2016 addition of a second golf course. The course is always in impeccable shape, that kind of place where you can play everyday with ease, as it never gets old, nor you getting tired of it. The Old Waverly is fairly generous off the tee and very playable around the greens, offering you plenty of opportunities to play the shot toward the hole if it happens to miss one.

As per its credentials, the Old Waverly hosted the US Womens Open in 1995 and also the 2006 Womens Mid Amateur Championship. Playing here youll have a sense of Scottish Highlands feel, as the courses layout will remind you of that Scottish old-school design if you dont count the 2 lakes which are anything but Scottish, looking more like a vintage Southern US course. Youll also enjoy the fast and smooth bent grass putting surfaces, which will provide you with a challenging experience regardless of your skill level and also the excellent conditioning of the golf course. Bottom line, the Old Waverly is a classy golf resort, featuring a strong course as far as the game fundamentals go, which is among the best in the region.
