Grandover Resort Course Review

A tricky beauty located in Greensboro, NC. Grandover has been host to multiple NCAA Golf Championships, and I actually had the privilege of playing in the 2011 National Championship here during my senior year of college which we won, of course. The practice facilities are immaculate, and the course is a true resort style structure. Equipped with a true players course, and a championship course, Grandover has everything to offer to golfers of all levels.

The practice facilities at Grandover are quite immaculate, and allow for golfers to work on various aspects of their game. Beginning with the giant driving range, which holds over 50 golfers at one time. This ensure you will not have to wait for a spot, regardless of how busy they are during the summer months. Once you move on from there, you have a beautiful short game area where you can spend hours working on any shot within 20 yards. If that is not enough for you, make your way to the tour sized putting green and work on every type of putt you can think up.

The golf courses at Grandover are quite stunning. We had the privilege of playing both courses, and each has a multitude of offerings. The West Course is the more challenging layout, and you better come prepared for a battle when stepping on the first tee. During the round you will be faced with multiple dog legs, tight tee shots, and more creeks than you want to see throughout the day. My favorite hole on the course is the par 3 12th hole, which looks easy enough on paper. It is only 125 yards, but the green is a 3 tier monster that can penalize even the best of shots. If you are ever in Greensboro, do not pass up on this true test of golfing ability.
