Carmel Country Club Course Review

Carmel Country Club is the gem of the Charlotte area. The clubhouse is immaculate, the practice facilities are in the process of being renovated to be top tier, and the golf course is an absolute beauty. There are two golf courses at Carmel, with the most popular being the South Course. The North Course is currently being renovated with a re-open date set for late August, and will soon be the stunning younger brother to the beautiful South Course.

The practice facilities are in a league of their own. From the massive putting greens near the first tee box of each course, to the newly renovated short game area that has three practice greens to work with, Carmel stands above the rest. If that is not enough for you, then they also have a 37th hole, which allows golfers to work on their game from 70 yards and in. Carmel also provides a very unique opportunity with having the two golf courses, they have two different types of grass on the putting greens. One practice green is Bent, while the other is Bermuda, and this is something that not many courses give as an option. You are able to perfect your putting and short game on two types of greens, and that alone, is unprecedented.

On the other side of the clubhouse, stands the daunting South Course. This one is a monster, sitting at over 7,500 yards, with beautiful Zoisa fairways and slick bent greens. The South Course was renovated two years ago, and may be one of the top 5 hardest golf courses in the state of North Carolina. This is truly a bombers paradise. If the 530 yard par 4 first hole is not enough for you, then maybe the 600 yard 18th will be frightening enough for you.
