Asheboro Municipal Golf Course

A nine hole track that provides a fun atmosphere for golfers of all abilities. Sometimes overshadowed by Asheboro Country Club, and passed up due to only sitting at 9 holes in total, Asheboro Municipal is a true hidden gem. I would even go as far as saying not many people know about this course, even those living in the Asheboro area but I would not pass this track up.

Sitting at just over 3,000 yards in total, scoring is everywhere during this 9 hole round. Surprisingly enough, the first 3 holes all sit at just under 400 yards, and actually have quite a bit of defense. The first hole is a slight dog leg left, and is tree lined from tee to green. You need to keep your drive to the right side of the fairway, or you could be blocked out for your second shot. The second hole is actually straight away, but it is tree-lined as well. You need to be smart off the tee, and hit something that will get you in play and keep you inside the tree line. The par 4 third hole is not as tight, but it does have a small creek located right in front of the green, which does provide some nice defense causing golfers to miss long. The par 5 fourth hole has some distance, but can be reached in two with a strong drive off the tee. There is no water on this hole, so go ahead and go for the green and reward yourself with an eagle opportunity. The next real task comes at the par 4 8th hole, with a pond located right in front of this green as well. In all, there is plenty of scoring out there on this track, and you will be provided with ample opportunity to put up a very strong round.
