Brings brighter, bolder and easier to spot colorways

Wilson announced recently the introduction of two brand new golf balls: the Duo Soft+ and the Duo Optics. The new arrivals are meant to replace the company’s famous DX2 Soft Ball and they feature Wilson’s proprietary Velocitor technology, which means these two are basically the longest and softest low-compression (35) 2-piece golf balls in the world. According to Wilson, the new Duo Soft + with Velocitor technology is crafted using advanced engineering and cutting edge materials to, let us quote, “extract and amplify every ounce of power from a player’s swing, giving golfers greater distance with every shot.”

And speaking of 2-piece design, here’s Frank Simonutti, Global Director of Golf Ball Innovation:

“DUO Soft+ was engineered to give players the ideal blend of longer distances and exceptional feel. In our testing of DUO Soft+, the Wilson LABS team found that when using a driver, the initial velocity of the ball increased by two miles per hour. With our Velociticor™ technology, we are able to make our DUO lineup even longer while maintaining the soft feel the brand is known for.”

The new Duo Soft+ golf ball is specially designed to deliver more distance and higher-trajectory, as well as excellent touch and feel around the course and it’s available at selected retailers from 27 January for $19.99/dozen. We wanted to keep the same consistency and reliability that the DX-brand was renowned for in Europe, but add the new technology we have developed in the Wilson Innovation Centre in Chicago. Our research found when using a driver, the initial velocity of the new DUO Soft+ ball increased by two miles per hour. We then repeated the test using a 7-iron and the results were equally impressive, beating some of the more expensive premium balls on the market in distance. The DUO line of golf balls has been extremely popular with golfers across the USA for many years and now we can present the same brand message to golfers around the world.

The second model, the Duo Optics respectively, brings brighter, bolder and easier to spot colorways, but just like its sibling, it’s designed for more distance and comes loaded with new technology. Unlike the Duo Soft+, the Optics version comes with a smaller core and matte/colorful cover, which stops glare in its tracks. By the way colored ball is much easier to spot in flight as well as in long grass/bushes, and it comes with a very durable and soft core made using polybutadiene, for plenty of feel and straight shots from tee to green.
