Say hello! to Nike's RZN Tour and RZN Speed golf balls, as the company introduces 4 new models for the golf season of 2016. What we're dealing with here are two new models of the RZN Tour, the high-performance RZN Tour Black and the RZN Tour Platinum respectively, retailing for only $48/a dozen. If that's too much for your wallet, just wait, there's more: you can always go for the RZN Speed Red and RZN Speed White, a little bit cheaper fellows, retailing for $30/a dozen. All these babies are available for purchasing at nike. com starting with January 22th and at various retailers starting from January 29th.
Nike upgraded/updated its RZN Tour golf balls, which are now focused on both players who desire to limit the ball spin when it comes to full shots (here you should choose the Tour Black version), or, if you are that kind of golfer who prefers mid-spin, you should go for the Tour Platinum version. All the models feature Nike's latest and greatest RZN core, which is ten percent larger than in the previous (last year's) generation, in both Platinum and Black versions.
The increased percentage translates into faster ball speeds and, due to the core's lower compression, also makes for a softer feel during your swings.
The balls
are covered with a specially designed urethane strata which features 344 dimples and an impressive 13,558 micro-dimples, promoting a more stable and longer flight trajectory. Basically, these balls
feel much softer without compromising the speed, being an excellent combo between feel and distance.
Nike achieved a high level of performance using its proprietary, state of the art technologies, like the 4 piece urethane cover design, the Speedlock X Core, RZN 4.0, the Speedlock Mantle and, last but not least, the Flight Suit Cover. The Speedlock X gizmo consists in deeper grooves and a surface pattern shaped in the form of an X, translating into a twenty six percent more surface area, when compared with the previous generation, thus allowing an optimal energy transfer through the ball during your swing, hence more speed and more yardage.
In this writer's opinion, these are among the best golf balls I've ever tested recently and they come highly recommended!
