    Born in Calgary, Alberta, in 1987, Sloan was raised in Merritt, British Columbia. After high school, Sloan attended the University of Texas at El Paso, where he participated in college golf. Sloan is a fan of other sports, and has stated that if he wasn’t playing golf he would be playing in the NHL. Sloan turned professional in 2009, and began playing on the Canadian Tour.

    He achieved one victory on the tour, in 2011. Sloan went on to play on the Web.com Tour, and achieved a win at the Nova Scotia Open, in 2014. This win helped him to finish in 24th place on the money list for the season, earning his PGA Tour Card for the following season.

    As of the end of 2014, Sloan was yet to achieve a win on the PGA Tour, but had amassed prize money of $12,805.
