Born in the city that hosts the year’s first Major, the Masters, Scott Brown grew up playing golf and played collegiately at the University of South Carolina in Aiken – an NCAA Division II program.

Brown turned professional in 2006 and played initially on the NGA Hooters Tour and the eGolf Pro Tour – both of which are mini tours a level below the current Web.com Tour.

Brown won three times on the eGolf Tour in 2009 and led the tour’s season money list with total earnings of $142,000.

This effort helped Brown graduate to the Nationwide (now Web.com) Tour in 2010.  Brown played two seasons on the Nationwide.  Brown recorded five top-three finishes in 2011 and finished in 8th place on the season money list – earning Brown his card for the 2012 PGA season.

Brown struggled with his consistency during his rookie season.  He finished the year 148th on the money list and retained “conditional” status.  Brown played a mixture of Nationwide and PGA events in 2013 until he won the Puerto Rico Open.  This victory, a PGA event, helped Brown win more than $1,000,000 during the 2013 season and retain full-playing privileges for the 2014 PGA season.

Over the past 18 months, Brown has played consistently on the PGA Tour.  He’s made 21 of 30 cuts during the 2014 season and placed 85th in the FedEx Cup standings.  Through the end of July 2015, Brown has made sixteen cuts and earned over $800,000.  Brown is currently ranked inside the top 100 in 2015 earnings.

Brown has only played in three Major championships.  He made the cut in the 2014 PGA Championship – where he finished in a tie for 46th place.
