Carballo has played on many different Tours over the years. These include; Web.com Tour, PGA Tour, European Tour, Challenge Tour, Tour de las Americas and the Argentina Tour. He qualified for the European Tour in 2005 after successfully coming through Q School. He had a spectacular birdie, hole in one, birdie finish to gain his card. He duly lost his card and played on the European second Tour for a year, winning once at the Abierto Telefonica de Guatemala after a play-off with fellow Argentinian Gustavo Rojas. This was his first victory as a pro and he had his girlfriend caddying for him that week.
His first season on the Nationwide Tour was in 2007 where he finished the year 31st in the rankings. He captured the Movistar Panama Championship by two shots and also had a 3rd place finish that year. He would play on the Tour for a number of years before having a breakout season in 2011. Carballo captured the Children's Hospital Classic by two shots and also finished runner-up at the Soboba Golf Classic after a play-off. He would finish 8th in the standings and as a result, win his first ever PGA Tour card.
He played 25 times in his rookie season, making the cut on 13 occasions. He had two top 25s with his best result coming at the Valero Texas Open where he was a tie for 24th. He would lose his card after finishing 176th on the money list. He played part time on the PGA Tour again in 2014 but did not do enough to capture a full card. He has had a good tart to 2015 on the Web.com Tour, registering two runner-up finishes so far. He looks well on his way to capturing a PGA Tour card for the 2016 season.
