He turned pro in 2008 and began to play on the various mini tours in the United States. He qualified for the Nationwide Tour in 2011. He won twice that season, capturing the Albertsons Boise Open and the Miccosukee Championship (by seven shots). His second win was made more special by the fact that he was only part of the field after a player had to withdraw through injury. He finished the season 4th on the money list and earned his PGA Tour card for the 2012 season.

In his rookie season, Kokrak made 13 cuts in 27 events and had two top 10 finishes. His best place was a runner up finish at the Frys.com Open where he finished one shot behind Jonas Blixt. He went on to finish the season 119th on the money list (top 125 retain their card). Kokrak had his best season to date the following year. He registered six top 25 finishes including four top 10s. His best result was a 3rd place at the AT&T National. Kokrak ended the year 70th on the money list. One of his highlights of the 2013 season was when he became only the second player in the history of the PGA Tour to score a hole in one on a par four.

Kokrak had a solid season in 2014 with ten top 25 finishes but only two top 10s. He finished the year 73rd in the FedEx Cup standings.
