After playing golf at Boise State University where he won ten events, Delaet turned pro in 2006. In his first season playing on the Canadian Tour, Delaet was named as the Rookie of the Year. He won his first event as a pro in 2008 at the Montreal Open. The next season, on his way to winning the Order of Merit on the Canadian Tour, Delaet won two times and subsequently was named as the Player of the Year. In 2009, Delaet decided to play some events on the Sunshine Tour (South African Tour) as well as the Canadian Tour. Delaet attended the PGA Tour Q School in 2009 and subsequently won his card after finishing the event in a tie for 8th.
In his rookie season, Delaet had eight top 25 finishes and three top 10 finishes. His best result of the season was a third place at the Shell Houston Open. He finished his rookie season 100th on the money list. The Canadian only managed to play in a couple of events during the 2011 season due to a back injury. He gained a medical exemption for the 2012 season. Delaet easily retained his card and finished 53rd in the FedEx Cup standings.
Delaet had a breakout season in 2013, having seven top 10 finishes on his way to finishing 8th in the FedEx Cup. His best finish was at the first FedEx Cup event, the Barclays, were he finished one shot behind the winner Adam Scott. Delaet came very close to capturing his maiden PGA Tour win in 2014, having finished runner-up on two occasions. He had another strong year with seven top 10s and finishing 30th on the money list.
Graham DeLaet is a Canadian golf-pro who’s currently playing in the PGA Tour. As he was attending the Boise State University, Graham DeLaet won 10 collegiate tournaments. After turning pro, he won the title of Canadian Rookie of the Year and he was awarded the Bob Beauchemin Shield. His first victory as a professional golfer happened at the Desjardins Montreal Open in 2008. In 2009 he played in the Canadian Tour and on the Sunshine Tour in South Africa. During the same year, Graham DeLaet played in a Nationwide Tour event and in the RBC Canadian Open on the PGA Tour.
After joining the PGA Tour in 2010, he was named PGA Tour rookie of the year. During his golfing career, Graham DeLaet boasts with 3 Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada victories, at the Desjardins Montreal Open in 2008 and the ATB Financial Classic, The Players Cup in 2009 and five international victories. In 2013, he represented national teams at Presidents Cup, and in 2008-2009 at the World Cup, while in 2016 he qualified for the Summer Olympics in Brazil. During his career, Graham won over 11.2 million dollars.
