American professional golfer Stuard was born in Jackson, Michigan and later attended Oakland University, before commencing his professional golfing career in 2005. At the time of leaving Oakland, Stuard was the most decorated golfer in the history of the College.

Since turning professional Stuard has moved between tours. He started playing on the NGA Hooters Tour in 2006 and 2007. He then progressed to the Nationwide Tour, in 2008. The following year, his tied for 19th place finish at qualifying school meant that he gained a PGA Tour card for 2010. During the season his best finish was a tie for second place at the Mayakoba Golf Classic at Riviera Maya-Cancun. Stuard finished the season in 154th place on the PGA Tour money list, and returned to the Nationwide Tour for the following season. In 2012 Stuard again gained a place on the PGA Tour, having graduated from the Web.com Tour.

Stuard lists his parents as his heroes in life. As of the end of 2014 Stuard had yet to achieve a win on the PGA Tour, and had amassed total prize money of $3,421,056.
