St. Petersburg Florida native Brittany Lincicome emerged a decade ago as one of the top young American players in women’s professional golf. After an amateur career that saw her qualify for the U.S. Amateur and the Women’s U.S. Open, Lincicome turn professional months after graduating from high school.
Lincicome placed 20th at qualifying school and earned her card for the 2005 LPGA season. She made 12 of 20 cuts her first full year on the LPGA and retained her card for the 2006 campaign.
2006 saw Lincicome win her first LPGA event, the HSBC Women’s World Match Play Championship. Brittany defeated a string of accomplished players – Michelle Wie, Lorena Ochoa and Julie Inkster – on her way to the title.
She won again in 2007 and also earned her way onto the U.S. Solheim Cup team.
Driving the golf ball is the strength of Lincicome’s game. She has led and been among the leaders in driving distance since joining the LPGA. Her length led to the nickname “Bam Bam” among her LPGA peers.
Lincicome took her career to higher levels by winning her first Major, the Kraft Nabisco Championship (now the ANA Inspiration) in 2009. Lincicome followed this Major up with another victory at the ANA Inspiration in 2015, where she defeated top American Stacy Lewis in a playoff.
Brittany also has been close in other Majors. She lost in a sudden death playoff to Inbee Park at the 2014 LPGA Championship. She has recorded Top 10 performances in all five ladies Majors.
Lincicome currently resides in Seminole, Florida and loves to play Texas Hold ‘Em in her time away from the course.
