The Greenbrier Sporting Club Golf Course Review

The Greenbrier Sporting Club Golf Course is the quintessential golfing resort for the games aficionados. The golf courses (5 of them) are built on a surreally beautiful piece of property, 11,000 acres of pristine land nestled in the lovely and lush Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia, in a high-end residential enclave which throws in exclusive amenities to its members. Playing the Greenbrier Sporting Club Golf Courses means that youve hit the jackpot, as these babies are sitting in the countrys outstanding National Historic Landmark, but the primary lure of the place is the game of golf, obviously.

As the Greenbrier Sporting Club has hosted during its long and rich history many big names in golf, the likes of Palmer, Hogan, Snead, Nicklaus, Mickelson and Woods, you may follow in their footsteps by playing one of the five championship grade courses available. Currently speaking, the Old White TPC is home for the Greenbrier Classic PGA Tour event, being the oldest of the bunch and also the only one designed by C B Macdonald which is available for the public. Besides the Old White TPC, you can play The Greenbrier, the Meadows, the Snead and the Oakhurst links. The Meadows is a scenic course, very challenging and easy to enjoy regardless of your skill levels, while the Oakhurst Links makes for Americas oldest golf club, built and designed way back in 1884. The Snead was designed by the famous golf architect Tom Fazio, both challenging and beautiful, being exclusive to the members of the Greenbrier Sporting Club. This baby was voted 3rd best new private golf course in the US in 2004.
