The golf course at Secession Golf Club was designed by a former PGA Tour professional, Bruce Devlin respectively, an Australian architect who also created over one hundred and forty courses all around the world. Bruce Devlin, before turning to the dark side of the force (becoming a golf-architect that is) won 45 golfing events, of which 5 were National Open Championships. Playing the Secession will make for a unique experience, as this golf course will provide you with a different challenge round after round, due to the shifting winds and tides, as its fourteen holes are cleverly routed along the epic tidal marshes of the Lowcountry. The Secession Golf Club is everything about golf in its purest form, making for a fraternal and relaxed atmosphere, as its basically a South Carolina enclave which makes for one of the worlds most interesting golf retreats.

Despite being located in Beaufort, a small town in South Carolina, where the secession articles were drafted, the Secession Golf Club is all about camaraderie and inclusion, where golf is more than just another game but a true passion. Also, this is a golf resort that attracts golf purists from all over the country, been a walking only golf course since its initial opening, back in 1992. Most of the Secession Golf Club members are low-handicappers, in the single digit, people who really appreciate the nuances and exceptional challenges offered by the golf courses 7068 yards layout. The Secession Golf Club plays best with old school shots, like bump and runs, knockdowns and long putts from off-the-green.
