    Mountain Lake Golf Course Review

The Mountain Lake Golf Course sits on a beautiful piece of property in Lake Wales, Florida and it features 6621 yards of golf from its longest tees for a 70 par, a course rating of 69,9 and a slope rating of 122 on Rye grass. This beautiful golf resort was founded way back in 1917, almost one hundred years ago and it was designed by architects Seth Raynor and Brian M. Silva. To put it simply, this is an amazing golf course, ultra exclusive unfortunately, as the Mountain Lake resort is a private facility available only for its members, with a strict guests policy. If youre lucky enough to get an invitation, by all means just go for it, youll be wowed to say the least.

The layout and the routing are absolutely outstanding and the terrain features more elevation changes than you would expect, due to the courses location, i.e. near the highest point in the Florida peninsula. The course itself is deceivingly difficult, due to its plethora of hidden bunkers, while the views offered by the Mountain Lake are simply unbelievable. The conditioning of the golf course is top notch, on par or better than any other golf course Ive ever played and to describe it in a few words, this course is a hidden gem, boasting its old school charm, making for a refreshing trip back in time, when everything was about golf and golf only. The Mountain Lake boasts Raynors signature linear bunkers and square greens, featuring vertical grass faces, which give the golf course a truly unique look and feel.
