Hi I'm Tom Stickney Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and today I want to talk to you about the role spine and how it increases or decreases your angle of attack. It will increase your angle of attacjk in the bunker and it will encourage you to hit higher or lower shots in the bunker. Now most people set up in the bunker and they have the ball somewhere in the middle maybe a little bit to the front better spine not tilted back that's gone now watch what happens when I lean my spine to the right if I lead it way to the right it was my low point back with and I'm going to tend to come into the ball very shallow. When I come into the hole very shallow you can see it's a very long divot the ball came up very flat and it tended to run a little bit so here it is you can sell out your by leaning back a little bit.

That gives a certain type of shot at certain type of characteristics you're good you're going to have to experiment with you can also get higher shots this particular position as well you just have to fiddle around. Now if I take the same position, and I set up and I lean my spine left that increases the angle of attack and what that does cause me to go down to the ground a look we see much deeper divot was. When I go down to the ground a little more but all the time the go up a little bit higher it's going to have a little bit more spin and it's good to stop with the quick. You have to experiment with your spinal tilt if you hit it thin you're probably going to want to be more here if you hit it in that you might want to be just a little more center you didn't want to hire you might want to leave a little back. So here again you're going to have to experiment because there is no magical spinal position but I would encourage you to fiddle around with center right and left spinal tilt in the bunker to your angle of attack and that will make you hit the shot that you never thought humanly possible.
