In this week's tip I want to cover the long versus the short bunker shot. Now when we set up our normal bunker shot to hit it to this pin right here we have a swing that's more like a V. It's set up it comes down steep and it goes back up so there's a V. type of swing that we use for short bunker shot which is your stock bunker shot obviously propels the ball a certain distance. Now if this pin was all the way in the back of the green and we want to carry it further there's 2 things we can do. Number one we can go from a 60 degree wedge down to a 56 or a 54 maybe even a 52, and the 2nd thing you can do is change the arc of your swing to look more like a U. long and shallow.

Now it's very easy to scull the golf ball doing this so you have to make sure you stay down. So when I want to carry the ball to the back of the green. Here's what I'm going to do I'm going to take it long and low without very much wrist hinge. Stay in the shot just a little bit longer and the ball carry a lot further. So here we got a long low U, and you can see that ball carried a lot further towards the back of the green. Now I can change clubs or I can make that U. type of golf swing try on both and see which one works better for you.
