So, the question is, should I bother buying good waterproofs? I’m almost had a bit of a giggle at this one. You know, why wouldn’t you buy good waterproofs? If you buy a cheap waterproof, first of all you go out in the rain and it tends to find its way through, you know, the classic thing, you take your waterproof jacket off and its wet around here, down the patch, down the back and because you get wet you get cold, you get miserable. And also in the cheaper waterproofs, they’re not breathable, so if they’re not breathable you tend to get a bit hot and sweaty. So, really it’s what I call a no brainer. If you want to be able to go out and play in those conditions then buy a good waterproof suit. It breathes, its waterproof, it says what it says it on the 10 basically and the better class waterproofs tend to be quieter.

So, when you’re actually swinging and you’re going back you sort of hear this – going back because the nylons or the shell suits, or the cheap waterproofs do, it’s nice and quiet. So there’s lots and lots of benefits. There’s no point going out and buying a cheap mediocre waterproof suit, getting wet, being miserable, saying, “I don’t want to go and play golf anymore,” get yourself a good waterproof suit and believe me, the illness might be bad, it might be throwing it down really heavy, but you’re going to stay dry and if you’re going to stay dry, you’re going to stay warm, if you’re going to stay warm, you’re going to be able to actually swing that club back in a comfort zone rather than what we just described in a minute when it leaks through. So you want to buy good waterproofs. If you want to play in the rain, buy good waterproofs.
