Born in Olympia, Washington in 1983, Gonzales has played on the Canadian Tour, Web.com Tour, and PGA Tour. He has experienced wins at the Saskatchewan Open in 2009, the Soboba Golf Classic in 2012 and the Utah Championship in 2014. He has had three top ten finishes on the PGA Tour.

Incredibly Gonzales only came to the world of golf when a broken neck at the age of eleven prevented him from playing other sports. Loved for his slightly unorthodox appearance, Gonzales says that every putt he sinks is a great experience on the course, and that spending time with his wife Kristen is a great experience off the course.

Away from the golf course Gonzales likes to put his college major in journalism to use. He keeps a diary of all the events that take place on tour, some of which he shares with the world on Twitter. This is where he is also famous for keeping everyone amused by trying to strike up a dialogue with Tiger Woods. Gonzales also puts some of his more contemplative thoughts down on Word documents.

Gonzales has a reputation for being slightly eccentric, and larger than life, with his Fu Manchu facial hair. He is actually a very down to earth individual, married to Kristen who he has known since he was twelve, and the son of a mother who has a degree in oncology and a father who was an endodontist, before his death from cancer.

As of the end of 2014 Gonzalez had played 44 events on the PGA Tour. He has yet to achieve his first win, and has amassed prize money of $546,499.
