Nike Method Origin Putter Review

The Nike Method Origin Putter retails for $350 (MSRP) and it's built and designed for consistent roll and maximum forgiveness. The Method Origin is a three piece putter, which was already used by Rory McIlroy and Charl Schwartzel to win this year, and it was created based on input from McIllroy and Tiger Woods, using a classic blade design packed with Nike's latest and greatest technologies, including the RZN resin polymer. The RZN layer is strategically placed between the body of the club-head and the face, dramatically increasing forgiveness when it comes to off center hits, boosting accuracy and reducing distance loss. Using the Nike Method Origin Putter, you'll discover that the response upon ball impact is incremental across the face, while a nicely centered hit creates a dampening effect of some sort.

Basically, the more off center you hit, the more the resin polymer layer compresses and the more energy gets transferred through the ball. The response of the RZN insert in the face is very similar to Nike's patented compression channel, and it boosts consistency all across the face. Another great feature of the new Nike Method Origin Putter is the groove technology which uses a composite metal construction (polymetal as per Nike's R&D team), including the horizontal grooves. This peculiar design comes with 2 x the number of grooves compared to the previous Method putters and it's aimed at providing a more consistent and faster roll upon ball impact, with a softer feel and less skidding.
