    Interlachen Country Club Course Review

The Interlachen Country Club was founded way back in 1911 and it was designed by architects Donald Ross, Willie Watson, Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Willie Park, featuring 6829 yards of golf from its longest tees for a 73 par. To describe it in a few words, the golf course at Interlachen is the definition of Mid-Western golf excellence, featuring eighteen splendid holes and a rich history. For example, the Interlachen Country Club hosted the 1914 Western Open, the 1916 Trans Mississippi, the 1930 US Open, the 1935 Womens Amateur, the 1986 US Senior Amateur, the 1993 Walker Cup Matches and last but not least, the 2008 Womens Open. Hence, as far as pedigree goes, the Interlachen Country Club has it where it counts!

The golf course is one of the finest in the world and arguably one of Donald Rosss best designs, being continuously high rated by reputable golf publications in the US, i.e. among the top courses in the country. Keep in mind that the Interlachen Country Club is a private resort, available for its members and their guests only, sitting on a beautiful piece of property in Edina Minnesota and being ranked 56th by Golf Digests 2013-2014 Top One Hundred Greatest Golf Courses in the US and number one in its home state. What to expect playing here, you may ask? Well, this is a golf course that received consistent high ratings during its long existence, being a favorite among Donald Ross aficionados, featuring a heavy rolling topography and some water hazards on 6 holes, being the perfect recipe for a Minnesota golf course in this writers opinion.
