    Inverness Club Country Course Review

The Inverness Club Country sits on a beautiful piece of real estate, three miles north of Toledo, Ohio State and the golf course wears the signatures of architects Donald Ross, A.W. Tillinghast/Dick Wilson, George and Tom Fazio together with Arthur Hills. The golf club started way back in 1903 as a nine-hole course, but it later expanded to 18 holes in 1915. Truth be told, Donald Ross really put the Inverness Club Country on the map, when he was hired in 1916 and turned it into a top notch championship-grade course. The golf course hosted a lot of US Open Championships during his long and tumultuous history and every Open Championship was loaded with drama. After the 1920 US Open, the golf course at Inverness Club Country was lengthened by architects Dick Wilson and A.W. Tillinghast while further changes were made in 1978 by George and Tom Fazio.

The layout of the golf course was further enhanced in 1999 once more by architect Arthur Hills and today the golf course features 7255 yards of golf from its longest tees and its a very challenging and demanding place to play your favorite game, if it ever was one. The key to unlock the Inverness golf course is second shot accuracy, together with the capability of negotiating the last 5 holes, which are called in local parlance murderers row. If youre able to achieve these things, youre in for a real treat and a decent score on your game card. Bottom line, the Inverness Club Country is a wonderful way to start your day if you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to play here, being a must-see must-play course and one of the best in the state.
