In this video tip PGA golf professionals Pete Styles and Matt Fryer will lead you through one of the most simple but effective golf drills that you can implement in your warm up routine. A baseball rotational drill is a great drill to have in your drill repertoire to help improve the consistency and stability of your golf swing. If you suffer with hitting the ball to the right you need to have the drill in your game.

Matt in one word that we tend to hear over and over again on the lesson tee most of our club amateur golfers you know what it's going to be right it's going to be consistency. Any golfer so who's played house here that was perfect to drive with the 7 and even followed the path and they just think why can't I do that again and again why can't I be consistent Well I think the game would be boring if people were too consistent if you had 72 every time you'd probably get bored of the challenge golf is a challenge but a challenge that you should be able to rise to if you can improve your level of consistency yet he claims relating to striking that will definitely ideally we'd like to be you know we don't have to be hitting it perfectly out of the center every time but if we're very close if we thought like a dime piece for the American viewers. If we're getting the strike locations somewhere around there consistently like a small calling on the yeah hitting that part yeah it doesn't have to be ripped everyone if we can get somewhere around there we're going to probably have a bit of more enjoyable experience out on the course.

There's nothing more frustrating I think as a golfer than playing 3 4 5 holes really nicely and then struggling with the strike and topping one and the next don't you think. I'm going to top this and you fat it and then that consitency breaks down and it does relate to height issues too high to low fat thin fat. Give me an exercise that can help us with consistency of strike. Yeah OK So as we all know as we stand to the golfer this one will the sending side of you know we're not approaching it the ball's not coming out as it only rest around till we hit it that's the 1st time you lose it built very well you don't move are going to be easy Exactly and one of the things you know for all is being able to move correctly and move a fishing around the golf ball if I'm doing lots of different things and changing angles throughout the backswing and in the downswing getting back to this point where I started I think he's going to be not consistent because I'm making so much alterations throughout your inconsistencies that strikes become Yeah definitely so 1st. As I've got to go to set up Aaron with your seat out of a few lines over my body we've got some angles creative down one we're going to talk touch on this video is the spine angle and what we'd like to see you know we want to have good rotation we're not swaying from side to side we're not walking into it we're turning around the golf ball as we're still test so a drill I like to see my pupils do is one where I'm going to focus on maintaining my spine angle by trying to rotate in the correct manner and now as I do that obviously my shoulders a tilted here and I'm going to try maintain that angle so as I make my backswing I'm going to go and try and get the left side here for me the clubhead pointing at the golf ball so it's not that it's out here too much because all of a sudden as we see now most final stage because I fully react the body and I stand up and it's altered. If I go to down the spine angles again has changed as well if I can your turn we see now with this clubhead pointing down towards the golf ball a good line down here my spine angle has now stayed the same so also my height to stay the same.

If I'm doing this and altering a lot chances are I'm not going to be getting the strike down here so what I'd like to see is it come back and then as I come through it's the opposite side now. So I'm going to try and feel that I'd be getting the opposite and going to impact and again if you see from that angle again wants to maintain the spine angle here so I'm consistently at the same height throughout the golf swing so as I'm coming down this close now approaching on the same angle all the time and allowing me to deliver in a good fashion to get a consistent strike I think one thing that right now is all I would think that we had was nice and stable and well why don't not call for the conscious of what the head doing your if you're not in control of what you had doing your head is moving independently your head is moving because your spine angle your body is changing here you had car and over roll up so if there's any change in angle of sounding off and quite it falls back down on the again that will cause you inconsistent strikes like if your game revolves around the fact that you hit the top of the ball hit the bottom of the ball someone who even hit the ball nicely it could be that your spine angle is changing too much to being consistent. My guess exercise that was a real great ones to work on now the good thing about that my you know I'm a just going to say that and you know if we if we had to if the camera here was acting as a mirror I like to get my pupils to stand and almost lock eyes like having a staring competition with yourself and think right OK I'm not moving I'm not saying that all of still but yeah I've gone down I'm going too much side to side if I can just think right turn to the ball I've still got my focus in the same spot I'm gazing at the same area and as I go throw I've got a good turn so if I were to say nice one here now what we should say is I'm making my swing and I get to these points in my swing sets yelled at the Yeah Yeah I've maintained these good angles throughout my body and as I'm coming through I deliver this similar angles I guess why. And you'll see I think that down the line I'm glad that my spine angle was consistent he said position is very consistent people striking very good now hopefully doubles trying to maintain the entire 18 holes in your around the golf and through all the different clubs get done get drive a spine angle and one final thought different but then maintain to what they started so driver stand a bit taller and it will stay that way during the swing. Run way too much of it moreover we will stay that way during the swring and that should help improve your rotational consistency top to bottom throughout your bag to improve your ball striking and ultimately improve your scores.
