So before we're to make a recommendation for somebody to change the Jack Nicklaus' high right elbow, flying right elbow in the golf swing, we've got to make sure we're making that recommendation to the right person and also the right physical attributes they have and the right technical issues they have in their golf swing. But there's probably two or three key areas that we would look at, one is for a person that’s not very tall. So if a person is quite short they might have quite a low quite a shallow golf swing. So we might encourage them to swing the club a little bit higher up. To swing the club higher up, we might have to encourage that high right elbow. So, a shorter person might be one area.

The other thing we might look for is someone that has a poor shoulder rotation, or someone that has too much drill. So poor shoulder rotation would be a golf with limited flexibility particularly around the shoulders, around the hips, and the core and as they turn around they get a bit stock here and if they were to keep a low right elbow, it's very limited how far back they can swing. But if they can't turn the shoulder anymore but they can let that right elbow fly a little bit, that could encourage the club together around of it further and instinctively get a little bit more power by just taking the club round further, so you can come down faster. So if you're really struggling with poor shoulder rotation and the right elbow staying in is not helping you, maybe letting that right elbow rise up a little bit the Nicklaus flying right elbow might help. The other consideration might be for somebody that's generating too much draw on the golf ball, so drawing the ball too far from right until after effectively hooking the golf ball if you like. Now a person that's doing that is generally going to be swinging the golf club too much from the inside coming down, recovering too much with their hands going through and sending the ball down the left side for the right-handed golfer. So the high Nicklaus flying right elbow would generally encourage the club to come down more over the top, more in front to the golfer and not have it dropping in behind quite so much. So, high up to the top, let the right elbow escape and fly you then going to find that easy to bring the club down your front, harder to bring that club down on the inside. So if you're struggling with those areas, poor shoulder rotation and too much draw, maybe the Nicklaus flying right elbow is something you could learn in your game.
