Lee Janzen has won many times on tour including two US Open triumphs in the 90s. And his swing is a very, very consistent technical model. But there’s one part of his technique that everyone can take to their own game and that is his unflappable tempo with pretty much every shot. And the way he actually approaches it and the way he actually goes about hitting, his golf shots; is to approach every shot exactly the same, next to the ball, getting set up, adding in a little bit of a waggle just before the shot. Just try and preset his tempo to his swing, and then continuing along and swinging.

There are many great technical aspects to his swing, but this is something that really stands out as he does it every single time to fantastic result. So if you are looking to improve the tempo of your swing and set the tempo of your swing, get yourself set up over the ball, add in a waggle, including the tempo which you want to swing at. So nice smooth tempo, back to the ball and then just try and repeat through the actual shot. It’s a fantastic way to get yourself set to hit the golf ball. Add in a waggle, and then just try and repeat that tempo when you are swinging and hopefully, you’ll have Lee Janzen’s consistency.
