For golfers who like their hybrid golf clubs, sometimes it's almost an intangible question. When we say, “Why do you really like this club?” it's almost intangible. They can't always say, “Well, it goes farther, it goes higher.” But actually, what they're suggesting the reason why they like that club so much is often when they put the club down behind the back of the golf ball, it just fills them with so much more confidence. They like the look of the hybrid golf club as opposed to a skinny looking long iron. But what if we can get the same confidence-building design and shape all the way through the bag?

So when you're 130 or 120 yards out from the green, you'd normally be looking down to one of your mid to short irons, maybe an 8 or a 9-iron, something of that nature. And when you put that iron down behind the ball, sometimes the thinner top line – you know, if I take my 8-iron out of my bag here, the thinner top line here, the skinnier profile head and the shorter nose makes the club look and feel a little bit small behind the golf ball. And if we see a golfer place down a hybrid golf club down behind the ball, sometimes the bigger face, the bigger sole, and the bigger crown just give the golfer a lot more confidence. And we all know golf is a game of confidence. So now, I set up from 120 yards out with this big forgiving club behind the ball, it makes me feel that I can make my nice, normal, smooth swing, and the ease of use of the golf club is really going to be a benefit. The extra-large head, the weight low and deep underneath the golf ball is going to help the ball pop up into the air. So if you've been struggling with your mid to short irons, but really getting on quite nicely with your longer irons, and particularly your hybrid golf clubs, possible change would be to put hybrid golf clubs throughout the bag, into the mid irons, into the short irons, and then use the extra-wide profile head of your hybrid golf club to give you super confidence all the way through your short irons.
