During this section, we’re going to look at issues that you might be having with the striking of the golf ball, particularly hitting the ball in the toe of the club. Firstly, let’s associate what is the toe of the golf club? We have a center of a golf club which is a sweet spot right about the size of a small coin in the middle of the golf club and that’s why the ball will be hit from really nicely. And then we have the toe of the golf club down to this section and the heel of the golf club down on this section.

So a toe shot is anything that comes from the toe side of the center particularly if you're hitting the golf ball towards the smooth part of the edge of the golf club where there are no grooves. That’s really going to cause you problems with the distance you hit the golf ball but also the direction that you hit the golf ball. Because hitting from the toe section with an aim will twist the golf club and the ball could curve out to the right hand side and not fly very far at all but actually hitting towards the toe section of a wood, particularly your driver, could result in some hook shots that go left. So the best thing for you to do is to check where about you're hitting on the club face. Where is the grass and the mud accumulating when you play or even get some face tape and have a look where about you're striking the ball from. Anything that’s coming towards the toe end of the golf club, that’s what the next section of drills is designed to eradicate.
