Park Sung Joon, or S.J. Park as he is known in the world of professional golf was born in Korea, lived briefly in New Zealand and is now trying to establish himself in America on the world’s most lucrative professional tour.

Park began playing professional in 2006 on the Japanese Challenge Tour.  He graduated to the Japanese Tour and got his first career victory at the 2013 Vana H Cup KBC Augusta.  This performance helped propel him to a 5th place final standing on the Japanese Tour money list.
In 2014, he began to play on the Web.com Tour.  While not winning a tournament, he played consistently during the season and finished in 44th place in the Web.com Tour finals – earning his PGA Tour card for the 2015 season.

In 2015, in just his 5th career start, Park recorded rounds of 68, 67, 67 and 65 at the Humana Challenge.  This score was good enough for a 2nd place tie, one shot behind winner Bill Haas, and the biggest payday ($342,000) of Park’s professional career.

Through the end of July, Park has made the cut in 13 of his 25 starts.  His earnings are just shy of $600,000.  Park is right on the money list bubble with regard to retaining his full PGA playing privileges for the 2016 season.

Park uses Taylor Made drivers off the tee and a Scotty Cameron T10 Select Newport 2 putter on the greens.
