Delsing played golf on a very successful team at UCLA which included; Steve Pate, Duffy Waldorf, Corey Pavin and Tom Pernice Jr. Shortly after graduating, Delsing turned pro. He went through PGA Tour Q School and won a card for the 1985 season. He had two top 10 finishes in his rookie season and finished the year 125th on the money list, barely managing to hold onto his card (top 125 retain their PGA Tour card). Delsing had a breakout year in 1990 when he registered seven top 25s including four top 10 finishes. His best result was at the Hardee's Golf Classic where he finished in a tie for 3rd place. Delsing finished a then career best 74th on the money list.

The 1993 season brought the first of two runner p finishes that Delsing would have in his PGA Tour career. It came at the New England Classic where he finished four shots behind the winner, Paul Azinger. This was one of three top 10s that season. It was in 1995 that he had his second runner up finish, this time at the FedEx St. Jude Classic where he ended up a single shot short of a play-off with Jim Gallagher Jr. This performance came somewhat out of the blue considering Delsing had not made the cut in his previous five events. Delsing’s best year on Tour came in 1999 when he had eight top 25 finishes and four top 10s. His best finish was a tie for 3rd place at the Buick Challenge. Despite missing the cut in his first ten events of the season, Delsing finished the year 91st on the money list.

He lost his card after the 2000 season and only played one more season on the PGA Tour (2004). He currently plays on the Champions Tour.
