Holly Ridge Golf Links

    1. Holly Ridge Golf Links Course Review

If you are looking for a tight, tree-lined layout, then turn away now. Holly Ridge is the complete opposite, and provides a very exciting atmosphere for golfers of all skill levels. The first few holes are very straight-forward, and you will have no issues navigating with a long iron off of the tee. The first test comes at the par 3 fourth hole, which has a strategically placed right in front of the green. The miss is long, and if you are able to find the green you will be rewarded with a fairly flat putt. The par 4 fifth hole provides you with the lone drive able par 4, but beware, if you do attempt to reach the green in one trouble awaits. A pond runs up the entire left side of the hole, and if you leave anything off of your driver, the water is not avoidable. The rest of the front 9 is pretty straight forward, and the par 5s are both reach able in two shots.

    Holston Hills Country Club

    2. Holston Hills Country Club Course Review

The course features 7030 yards of golf from its longest tees for a 72 par and, as I already told you, its one of the very few Donald Ross courses which have remained basically unscathed. Hence, if youll ever have the opportunity to play a few rounds of golf on a beautifully preserved Donald Ross classic golf course, by all means do it, as youll be enjoying the terrific views the Holston Hills Country Club offers its visitors, together with the very challenging game-play, suitable for golfers of any skill level. Even if its relatively difficult, the course is fair and the staff incredibly friendly and well trained, making for a terrific choice for playing your favorite game in a beautiful location imbibed with tradition, with well-groomed greens and fairways together with its eroded/receded grassed bunkers which give the golf course authenticity and class.

    Hudson National Golf Club

    3. Hudson National Golf Club Course Review

The main selling points of the Hudson National Golf Club are the golf courses elevation changes and the epic views, which definitely add to the mystique of the resort. Also, the artistic feel and the challenges will make for a once in a life time experience while playing here, the Hudson National Golf Clubs golf course being one of Tom Fazio best works ever. Everything is superlative here, ranging from the variety of colors offered by the grasses, trees and fescue to the shapes of the bunkers. The extraordinary layout of the Hudson National Golf Club spreads over more than two hundred acres of hilly terrain, featuring a wide range of holes, scenic views, playability and superb overall aesthetics. Huntsville Golf Club

    4. Huntsville Golf Club Course Review

Since its initial opening in 1994, the Huntsville Golf Club became very quickly one of the best golf courses in the state, which is remarkable if you consider the fact that Pennsylvania harbors legendary courses like Oakmont and Merion. The terrain upon the Huntsville Golf Clubs course was built is very rich in essential golf features, the likes of rolling prairie, wooded areas and lots of elevation changes. All these particularities of the real estate upon the golf course was created allowed the architect to design a challenging layout which also offers lots of fun, being engaging for the intrepid golfer from the first tee to the eighteenth green.

    Inniscrone Golf Club

    5. Inniscrone Golf Club Course Review

The design wears the signature of architect Gil Hanse and it makes for an eighteen-hole championship golf course, which is aimed at delivering a pure golf experience to its visitors. To describe it in just a few words, Id say that Inniscrone makes for a tough yet incredibly beautiful ride, a walk to remember (pun intended) as the architect was asked (and he managed to do it) to preserve the epic topography of the terrain upon which the golf course was built (an old farm site). And Hanse did just that with flying colors, creating a unique golf course which features uneven lies and plenty of hills, being a mlange of straightforward and quirky holes, with no 2 holes being remotely similar.

    Interlachen Country Club

    6. Interlachen Country Club Course Review

The golf course is one of the finest in the world and arguably one of Donald Rosss best designs, being continuously high rated by reputable golf publications in the US, i.e. among the top courses in the country. Keep in mind that the Interlachen Country Club is a private resort, available for its members and their guests only, sitting on a beautiful piece of property in Edina Minnesota and being ranked 56th by Golf Digests 2013-2014 Top One Hundred Greatest Golf Courses in the US and number one in its home state. What to expect playing here, you may ask? Well, this is a golf course that received consistent high ratings during its long existence, being a favorite among Donald Ross aficionados, featuring a heavy rolling topography and some water hazards on 6 holes, being the perfect recipe for a Minnesota golf course in this writers opinion.

    Inverness Club

    7. Inverness Club Course Review

The layout of the golf course was further enhanced in 1999 once more by architect Arthur Hills and today the golf course features 7255 yards of golf from its longest tees and its a very challenging and demanding place to play your favorite game, if it ever was one. The key to unlock the Inverness golf course is second shot accuracy, together with the capability of negotiating the last 5 holes, which are called in local parlance murderers row. If youre able to achieve these things, youre in for a real treat and a decent score on your game card. Bottom line, the Inverness Club Country is a wonderful way to start your day if you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to play here, being a must-see must-play course and one of the best in the state.

To describe it succinctly, the golf course at Isleworth Country Club is a golfers paradise, being a championship-grade facility which receives consistent high ratings year after year and it was ranked among the best in the United States. The design of the golf course is aimed at providing its visitors with a fair yet challenging round, being built on a rolling/hilly terrain with generous greens, fast and undulating, sitting on a picturesque setting. Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Resort

    10. Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Resort Course Review

What makes this golf course truly unique is the fact that its hugely affected by the wind, due to its ocean-side location, and from one round to the next, playing here you may experience up to an eight club difference on holes, depending upon the strength and the direction of the wind. Needless to say, playing the Kiawah Island Ocean Course is massive fun and Pete Dye even designed 2 courses into 1 at Kiawah Island Ocean Course, i.e. one for a westerly wind and one for an easterly wind. Also, this golf course comes with more seaside holes (ten of them, right along the ocean) than any other in the Northern Hemisphere, whilst offering terrific views over the beautiful Atlantic coastline. Bottom line, the Kiawah Island Ocean Course may be one of the toughest to play in the world, but its also fair and it will make for an unforgettable experience, being immensely fun yet difficult, located on a gorgeous setting and being a must-play course if youre in the neighborhood sort to speak.
